AE Graphics and Channel Nine team up for Australia’s International Cricket Season for the first time
AE is thrilled to be in Perth for the start of Australia’s international cricket season and to be working for the first time, on home soil at least, with esteemed sports broadcaster, Channel Nine on their Wide World of Sports. Having already covered the early season Matador Cup matches, test cricket now takes centre stage and we are delighted to have launched a brand new graphics look for the opening match against South Africa, built by AE’s creative department, in conjunction with Nine’s own design team.
In addition to standard broadcast graphics, our onsite team is delivering a new touchscreen solution, again created in partnership with Nine and their commercial partner, Microsoft. The touchscreen application can be controlled directly via the screen or, alternatively, using Windows 10 tablet devices, enabling maximum interaction and engagement with the on-screen talent.
To add further wow factor to Nine’s coverage, AE is also providing augmented reality graphics content using Spidercam and its Vector system. With a potential 41 days of international cricket coming up over the duration of the summer and Australia also hosting Pakistan, New Zealand and Sri Lanka across various formats of the game, we are excited as the possibilities presented by this system for introducing new and innovative ways to present match data throughout the season.
